How It All Started
It all began during one of our collaborations with optometrists in a third-world country when we donated eyeglasses to many locals affected by health-related vision issues.
One memorable encounter involved a young woman who, though seemingly unaffected by vision problems, was virtually blind. With the aid of remarkably thick glasses, her world brightened as she beheld her son for the first time.
This experience fueled our commitment to giving back. We now support ophthalmologists, dentists, and ENT specialists with equipment and collaborate with caring individuals to provide essential sustenance in countries where it’s needed most.
Honduras Needs All the Help It Can Get
Honduras’s ongoing struggle against hurricanes and deep-seated poverty has left its population in dire need. These natural and unnatural circumstances are why we’ve chosen to direct our efforts towards this nation, aiming to reshape lives through our Champions For The Poor initiative.

As an ophthalmologist-led 501(c)(3), ACE Global is equipping the next generation of eye care providers in countries like Honduras with the skills needed to establish thriving practice environments within their communities.
We are thrilled to support ACE Global’s efforts by donating critical ophthalmic equipment for multiple clinic sites, ensuring that these facilities have the necessary resources to deliver exceptional eye care services to those in need. Additionally, our passionate team members have personally traveled to Honduras, lending their expertise to repair equipment at ACE Global’s surgical training sites.
Supporting education and mentorship are at the core of our partnership. Sunshine Ophthalmic proudly sponsors a scholarship program that enables nurses to join ACE Global’s Teaching Travel Team missions, covering their airfare and select ground costs. This initiative fosters professional growth and skills transfer, empowering local healthcare professionals to make a lasting impact in vulnerable communities.
